Built in 1910, this mansard is obviously the result of a remodel. No data on when it was updated but the end product is a thoroughly modern mansard.

About Modern Mansard

Modern Mansard is a blog that celebrates the modern revival of the mansard roof. The roof style was originally popularized by François Mansart in 17th century France and enjoyed a revival in the late 19th century. The mansard's most recent evolution occurred in the 1970s when the 'modern mansard' as I refer to it (also lovingly referred to as 'mushroom houses' by many) was born and became part of the 1970s design aesthetic.

Although I do not own a modern mansard myself, I am one of the many admirers around the world and enjoy collecting images and stories of extraordinary mansards here on this blog.
